With all the things going on at present (you only have to turn on the news or see a post on Facebook) it is easy to do a lot of thinking, worrying, praying and more thinking. However I believe more then ever that God is encouraging me to read more of His Word (the Bible).

"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path". (Psalm 119:105)

I am convinced that the Bible is full of all the answers we need to live this life. Many times I have become slack and busy doing other things but I am continually reminded that it is truly the only source that will always bring me back to the truth and create peace in my mind and heart again when fear or confusion try & settle in.

“Gods word reminds me of who I am, who He is & gives me hope for the future”.

My husband kindly reminds me that meditating on the word doesn’t mean I have to sit for hours and read heaps – it may be just one verse that I can think about all day (he understands the demands that come with having kids). I am amazed the amount of times that I am thinking or fearing about a certain thing (I even had a situation today) and as soon as I begin to read the Bible – it is exactly what I need to hear!!!

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. (Joshua 1:8)

God’s Word honestly breaths life and peace into my spirit and I am so thankful I have this amazing book to guide me. We have such freedom here in Australia to be able to read it and I am so grateful for that. I aim to treasure his commands and write His Words on the tablet of my heart. So that whatever may come – I am fully prepared and can stand in faith not fear!!! Definitely on a journey here to renewing my mind daily and meditating on His Word (even if it is just one verse a day)!!

There is a song called Depths by Hillsong Worship that I love. Here are the beautiful lyrics that sum up what this blog is all about.

And I wait on your Word oh Lord
There your Spirit speaks
Bringing life to the weary soul
To the depths of me
Jesus Jesus

Encouragement of the week:

If you’re feeling lonely – His Word will give you comfort
If you’re feeling lost – His Word will give you direction
If you’re feeling sad – His Word will give you joy
If you’re feeling afraid – His Word will build faith in you

And I could go on – may this precious book give you hope and encouragement this week as you open it’s pages!!

Have a fantastic weekend! Love Melly x
